December Tot School Recap

I only had E for one week, so we’ll save a lot of the planned activities for next year. Here’s a rundown of what we got to do!

Bible Verse: Matthew 1:21b

“And you are to give him the name Jesus because he will save his people from their sins.”

I (quickly) paraphrased the first book for them.
Book Craft: Candy Cane Ornament – We just used red foam and white paint to make fingerprint candy canes this year.

Color Focus: Red

Make a red bag (collect red items throughout the house) – We did this!

Red bath (peppermint scented?) – We’ll save this.

Red painting (maybe using pine needles as the brush?) – We’ll save this!

Letter Focus: J is for Jesus – We’ll save all of these. And I’m sorry that some of these links didn’t work. I’ll have to find new ones next year!

J is for Jesus Coloring Page

J is for Jesus Do a Dot Art or Happy Birthday, Jesus Do a Dot Art

Music (Mondays): Grooveshark Playlist

There is a reason for Christmas and Jesus is his name-oh!

J-E-S-U-S, J-E-S-U-S, J-E-S-U-S and Jesus is his name-oh!

(I made this one up; original, huh?)

Art Exploration/Dramatic Play (Tuesdays):

Christmas Tree Decorating – This was a great activity, and we will do it again next year, too!

Melissa and Doug Nativity Set – The girls loved this. Fairley carried baby Jesus and one particular wise man around all the time!

Science/Sensory (Wednesdays):

Tinsel Sensory Bin – The girls LOVED this activity!!

Peppermint Playdoh – Next year. We still had a lot of cinnamon and pumpkin playdoh left!

Math (Thursdays):

Sorting red and green bows – Fun activity! Will probably be even better for them next year!

Strawberry/banana candy canes – Tried this, but E hated the texture of both fruit. Fun idea, though! :)
