A New Season

Candace and I are excited to share with you all some exciting news about the way that God is bringing us into a brand new season of life (and we don’t just mean Fall!).

First of all, we are excited to announce that we are expecting baby number two next March!  We shared this photo on social media, and we can only say that we feel so blessed to get to be part of God’s plan for this new child!  Fairley seems to think it is a girl, and she actually told us yesterday that she thought there would be 2 babies (twins – a boy and a girl).

Secondly, we are sad to announce that we will have to step back from our position at the MNYBA.   We are seeing God take the MNYBA in new directions, and some of the decisions made in response to those changes in direction make it impossible for us to stay and pursue the calling we feel like God has placed on our family. We know for certain that He has called us to be a family planted here in the city; this calling is just starting to take shape differently and is calling us to new places within the city.  So, we are in the midst of the stressful process of looking for an apartment, so please pray that we trust God as He shows us exactly the right one!

BUT, even with our departure from the MNYBA, God is so gracious to confirm our calling to be in New York City and has provided us with a position that is exactly what we feel like he has been preparing us to do here in the city.  On Monday, I officially started my new position as Family Ministries Director at Apostles Church (www.apostlesnyc.com@ApostlesNY). I will be in charge of casting vision and coordinating volunteers for the Sunday Morning Worship for 2 (soon to be 3) services around the city, as well as working to equip families to thrive here in the city thanks to the amazing gospel of Jesus Christ.

How you can pray for us:

Pray that our goal in all of these transitions is not to find what is most convenient or comfortable for us, but for what will bring Him the most glory

Pray that God will be glorified by families serving Him, loving Him, and showing His love to others

Pray that we do not ignore Sabbath or rest in the midst of this hectic schedule of transition

Pray that God shows us the perfect place that he wants us to live and that he prepares all of ours hearts to love our neighborhood and neighbors with His love

We are so thankful for all of your support and prayers, and we look forward to the new and exciting things God has in store!

15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love[f] toward all the saints, 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And he put all things under his feet and gave him ashead over all things to the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
