Happy Half Birthday! You are now a year and a half old. I can’t even believe it! This has been a busy month, but I tried to keep up with all the new things you are learning and doing. Here a few highlights:
-You spent almost two weeks in Texas. One week you were visiting GiGi and Big Dad all by yourself! Then Mommy came to meet you there. You had SO much fun, and GiGi recorded everything for us, so we can always remember all that you did during your first “Big Girl” trip away from Mommy and Daddy.
-While you were in Texas, you swam every day. You would jump off the side, swim back and forth to GiGi and Big Dad, and you even kept up with the “boys” (Camden, Layden, and Keaton) when they came to swim!
-Another favorite activity while in Texas was having tea parties with Big Dad out in the sun room. You also loved when GiGi would “bounce” you to put you to sleep. GiGi and Big Dad spoiled you in every way, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!
-You loved the green grass in Texas. You would pick some and throw it up and say, “green!” You have also learned the color orange now. I think you now know blue, green, pink, orange, and yellow.
-Here are a few of my favorite new words. You pretty much parrot everything we say, so I’ll just have to pick my favorite ones! Welcome (said to everyone getting on the plane), oopsey daisy (said with Texas accent), camera, book, cheese (to take your own picture), click for camera, Crosby, giraffe, taxi, New York (when asked where you live), dizzy, opposites (Daddy taught you that with hot and cold in the bathtub).
-You’ve started putting two words together now. Some examples are, “No thank you,” “Emma turn,” and “tummy hurt.”
-Daddy also taught you how to wink. (Well, actually, you blink both eyes, but it’s still so cute!)
-About a week ago, you started calling me “Mommy” instead of “Mama.” At first I was a little sad because it made you seem so old, but it actually sounds so cute! Then you started calling Dada, “Daddy.” So we decided you should be able to call yourself Fairley instead of Fair-Fair.
-You still love to pray, which thrills my soul. You had GiGi and Big Dad pray for lunch about fifteen times when you visited NASA with them. On the train the other night on the way home from the beach, you had me and Daddy pray with you. Then you asked Kelli and Tonya to join, too. You ask everyone to hold hands, then you bow your head (and don’t really close your eyes). You give an emphatic “Amen!” at the end every time! I love that you are sometimes the one who reminds me to pray now. What a sweet desire God is growing in your heart – for you to know and be known by your Heavenly Father through prayer!!
-We did visit Rockaway Beach this month. It was a long train ride and a short time at the beach, but you loved every single minute!
-We started a new nighttime song. I’m not sure why, but I started singing “Skinny Marinky Dinky Dink,” and you love it!
Oh, the joys of life with such a fun toddler! Thanks for making every day exciting and fun! We love you!
