The spring is always a busy time for our family, but I’m excited to come up with some intentional learning activities to keep us somewhat focused and to ground us in the truth that we can be made new in Christ! Here’s a quick glance at our April Tot School Plans!
A lot of great ideas are on this website (some of which will be better for next year).
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
Any other fun spring books that we find along the way!
Color Focus: Purple
-We will probably color mix with water.
-We might also color mix with yogurt.
-We will probably go on a purple hunt.
Shape Focus: Diamond (Why not get all of the obscure shapes out of the way first?!)
-We might use the kite printables (from the website at the top of the page).
-Or we might just make a kite from construction paper!
-Or we might just go fly some kites!
Letter Focus: Ss – We don’t usually do a whole lot with the letter yet, but this one has a fun sound to make, so we’ll keep our focus there!
Music: Grooveshark Playlist – This will be a work in progress.
-Tiny Tim (Turtle Song)
-Parts of a Plant (by Dr. Jean)
-Dress up with feather boas, hats, sunglasses, etc.
-Felt Spring Scene
–Here are some great ideas for flower art projects (which will be nice for upcoming birthdays/Mother’s Day!)
-Coloring Flowers (using carnations, water/food dye)
–Spring Sensory Bin – (same as Easter)
-Counting with bunny pasta (working on numbers 1, 2, 3)
-Maybe making another counting book
-Pompons – They like to put them in a jar and dump them out. (fine motor)
Snack Ideas: Flower Snack (and also some great ideas for flower-themed unit)
Field Trip: Seeing all the flowers in bloom in Central Park – one of my favorite things about the city!
Service Project: Hoping to start serving at the nursing home once a month
