Fairley – Month Three

Fairley Anne,

We never thought we could love you more than we did when you were first born, but girl, you get better and better each month! Here’s a rundown of some of the funny happenings and milestones this month:

  • One day, Uncle Aaron called and left me a voicemail. You were sitting in my lap as I listened to it on speaker phone, and you went crazy looking around the room trying to find the person to whom that deep voice belongs.
  • We’ve had lots of fun play dates this month. One walk was especially monumental because it marked our first day being caught in the rain (and about fifteen blocks away from home). Fortunately, Aunt Kelcey and Hudson were there to man the storm with us! We made it home and were only mildly soaked.
  • After your last doctor’s appointment (where you had to get lots of shots), you slept for 7.5 hours that night! I think we’re getting closer to sleeping through the night. Right now, you are still on the three hour eating schedule – eat, play for about an hour, sleep for about an hour and a half, and repeat…
  • We had an eventful bathing session this month. Dr. G. had recommended that I give you a scalp massage with olive oil, so we started with that. The new style of your hair – priceless. What happened next – even better. Yep. Poop in the tub. Olive oil poop head. There you have it. (And I also nearly cried when I couldn’t get all the oil out of your hair and your usually fluffy hair was weighed down by grease…)
  • This month you traveled quite a bit. You took your first plane ride and did great! You met lots of family and friends – including your Uncle Aaron and three great grandparents.
  • You had your second dedication, this time at Big Dad’s church. Our whole family came to support you!
  • Your favorite toy: The piano playmat that GiGi and Big Dad bought for you. You could kick on that thing for hours…
  • Your favorite song: I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith. Your dad can get some of the best laughs out of you while singing that song. (Aunt Brooke and Aunt T are also great at getting out some great laughs. Mommy is working on it at as well…)
  • My favorite memories from this month: Sleepy mornings with you. We were so exhausted after our first trip together that we shared many morning feedings where we both fell asleep cuddled beside one another. { Pure bliss}

Month three was great! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for month four! We love you!
